There’s so much to enjoy about B.C. Rieslings and if you haven’t tried Fort Berens you need to add it to your list. This is a polished and complex white that grabs your attention with first pour. There’s a lovely citrus aroma which shouldn’t be missed. It foreshadows the taste of tropical fruit with a great balance of sweetness and acidity. I absolutely loved the finish which lingers and demands a second glass. The 2016 vintage won gold medals at the Los Angeles and Pacific North West wine competitions. The Fort Berens Riesling is easily among the top examples of this varietal made in our province. It’s also a great food wine. I loved it with a spicy Thai Gado salad and it’ll be a good match with your favourite seafood dish too.
